Shannon Briggs has been interested in health and nutrition for as far back as she can remember and has been practicing yoga before she even knew it. Realizing at a young age that the breath governs nearly every bodily function and intensity of emotion, she began using this tool to help change the impact of any situation. Her first yoga class with Neiley and Rick Snide of Balanced Union Yoga, opened her eyes to a new path that her life could take. She continues to expand upon her knowledge and experiences in the realm of health/wellness and fitness, as well as spiritual growth and development. Shannon is a C.H.E.K. Holistic Lifestyle Coach, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Level III Reiki practitioner, Certified Sports Nutritionist, and 200-HR Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher. Most recently, Shannon and her husband, Stephen, purchased Feel Good Farm in Colchester, CT. The farming style they practice is a means to heal and restore the earth, therefore having the same affect on the earth’s inhabitants.
Shannon’s approach to teaching brings the student’s attention inward as they explore each posture using anatomical cues, the breath, and each changing sensation. During each class, students are reminded that it is their practice and are invited to explore each posture, making it their own unique expression. Through yoga, fitness and nutrition, Shannon aims to inspire others to come to realize their true potential, their true purpose, and that we each have all the tools we will ever need already within us.
